Göteborgs Rapé White Stark Limited Edition Snus has arrived!

The release of the Göteborgs Rapé White Stark Portion Snus Limited Edition is significant in three ways.  However the flavor is not one of these.

Goteborgs Rapé White Stark (Strong) portion snus is just what it is named; a higher nicotine version of the classic Goteborgs Rapé White.  The taste is the same mellow tobacco flavor with notes of juniper, citrus and lavender.

It basically is a limited edition Rapé (150,000 cans), a strong white portion in a can that has been designed by "Salong Betong", Sweden's most famous tattoo studio.

What's so special about Göteborgs Rapé White Stark?

REASON #1:  This is the first time Swedish Match has released a strong portion of a Goteborgs Rapé since the brand was created in 1919.  With a nicotine strength of 1.2%, this product was clearly designed for the Swedish market which does not embrace extra strong snus as passionately as the Norwegian and American markets do.

Since there is no significant difference in the flavor profile, releasing GR' White Stark as a limited edition gives Swedish Match the opportunity to test the market to see how well one of their most recognized brands is received as a strong snus.

Depending on the results, this test could lead to Göteborgs Rapé Stark becoming a production snus in the future; perhaps in both white and original portion versions.

It could also lead to a limited edition (to start) release of Ettan Stark in the future.  Both of these possibilities have me, Moe Unz, salivating as I'm sure many of you are now experiencing!

REASON #2:  Swedish Match is very particular about its can graphics, especially with long established brands.  The correct fonts, font sizes, colors, and other graphic elements are strictly adhered to without exception.  Until now.

The can graphics for Göteborgs Rapé White Stark Portion were based upon a hand-drawn original by the legendary Swedish tattoo studio Salong Betong. 

As you can see in the graphic, aside from keeping the blue and gold colors, Salong Betong totally redesigned the fonts, sizes and graphics.  Not that long ago, this would have been considered heresy!

As an aside, I must tell you that I, Moe Unz, have a special tattoo from Salong Betong on a secret part of my body.  Many woman have seen it, not that I'm bragging...  Moe Unz does not brag; he just states facts.

REASON #3:  As this experiment was clearly designed specifically for the snus market in Sweden, it was decided to limit distribution to the Swedish Match Stores, 7-Eleven, and Pressbyrån in Sweden.

This did not sit well with me Moe Unz, or the Unz Family Snus Dynasty of Lidköping. 

While this account will most likely be denied by Swedish Match, after many bottles of beer and whisky it was agreed that only MaKe Webo AB and it's associated websites like SnusCentral.com and BuySnus.com will receive Göteborgs Rapé White Stark Portion directly from Swedish Match.

Other less significant snus ecommerce sites may offer GR' White Stark, but they will have bought their stock after waiting in line at either 7-Eleven or Pressbyrån.  They may also have bought some soda or lottery tickets but that is none of my business.
