Jakobssons Glögg & Kanel Portion Snus is back for the holidays! Formerly known as Julesnus (Christmas Snus), Glögg & Kanel Portion Snus has a distinct flavor of mulled wine, cinnamon and yummy Christmas spices. Limited seasonal snus offering!
Jakobssons Glögg & Kanel Portion Snus began as Gotlandssnus Julesnus, the first Julesnus marketed commercially, many years ago.
.
Perhaps to improve marketing for non-Swedish speakers who don't realize Julesnus means Christmas Snus, they changed the name to represent the two major flavors: Glögg, which is a delicious mulled wine drink (when containing alcohol) and Kanel which is Swedish for cinnamon.
.
But if that is the case, shouldn't they have named it "Jakobssons Mulled Wine & Cinnamon Portion snus"?
.
I, Moe Unz, don't really care as long as glögg is involved. I will be drinking a LOT of glögg this time of year and NOT the no-alcohol kind made for children! MMMMM....Glögg!
.
Jakobssons Glögg & Kanel Portion Snus is a already on my Christmas list! Be sure to order extra for the freezer as once this year's batch runs out, the 2023 version is a long time off
Makes me want to drink... something!
My first impression of this is that, compared to other Jakobsson's snus, this stuff isn't sweet at all. The smell isn't anything to write home about, but I've started to learn that you can't really expect a lot from smelling most snus.
The dominant flavor seems to be the wine, which makes sense given what this is based on. Next is the tobacco flavor - the bitterness of the wine works well with the salty-tobacco. Under that are the spices: maybe something citrusy, I can tell there's a hint of cinnamon in there, and then some stuff I can't identify. All in all though, it makes for a pretty complex flavor that I'm currently enjoying.
I tend to like my snus either sweet or citrusy (or both!) so I probably won't go for a roll of this, but it's solid - I definitely won't be giving away this can.
