General Snus is the flagship brand of Swedish Match and the top selling brand of snus in the entire world for a good reason! General Original Portion Snus is the standard to which all other tobacco-centric snuses are judged by.

The golden standard
General original was my first snus. Initially the taste was a little odd to me. Not bad but foreign. It tasted like what citrus wood polish smells like without the chemical element. By the time i finished my first can my impression changed immensely. Now i pick up tobacco, and delicious salty leather with a hint of orange. Very pleasant.
Tried alot of them
I being a American can only find the general snus around here. I thought I was missing something not getting other brands and so ordered a bunch of the others thinking I was missing out. I was not. Something about the original just tastes and hits proper.
A timeless classic snus
You can't paint Propylene Glycol with that broad a brush. It exists in many chemical configurations for different purposes and effects. E1520 is not in anti-freeze; that is another variation on the base propylene glycol molecule used in industrial products and lubricants. In the European Union, propylene glycol has the E-number E1520 for food applications. For cosmetics and pharmacology, the number is E490. Both the US FDA and the Swedish version of FDA have approved E1520 for use in Swedish snus. Swedish snus has been regulated as a food product since 1971 and no one has died yet. Let not your heart be troubled. :-)
Lol
The lady up there is an idiot. Antifreeze is ethylene glycol, and Swedish snus contains no propylene glycol either. Moron
A Solid go-to
I've tried the majority of snus on this site, and I always find myself going back to this one. It isn't anything special, but that is what makes it great. It is just an all around solid snus that never lets you down! General is the best!!!
A good standard
After trying all of the other flavors I always go back to the Original. The other flavors are OK to use throughout the day, But Original is what I seem to resort to when I want a simple unaltered Snus.
Good.
The only real snus I can buy in America (the general brand) and thank god this and white are delicious. If you can't stand wintergreen or mint and want a genuine tobacco taste this is for you.
The original
General Original is a classic. If you haven't tried it, you probably have not been a snus user for very long. The different flavors all meld into a taste that is incredible. I really can't think of anything to compare this to.
The Most
It's General, as it has always been. Great flavor, and great convenience in 'portion' form. Portions have their place, that being in less micromanagement of the pris. You can run your tongue over this stuff, even pull it down and bite it a bit to reform before repositioning it. Mudslide chance? 0%. You pay for that convenience, though, in 24g vs. 42g size. I use it at work, and loose at home. Same same.
There is a reason that this is the best selling snus, and all other snus is compared to it: it is a definitive snus when it comes to flavor. It lands square in the center, with not too much or too little of anything, just tobacco, a bit of citrus and tiny hints of smoky, salty goodness. While it isn't the snus I use the most often, it never disappoints. It is kind of like the Coke of snus, the default choice if you don't know what you want, knowing you can't go wrong if you choose it.
If you haven't tried, you pretty much have to. I like to change up my snus flavors quite a bit, and eventually get tired (or sick) of a flavor after a roll or two, but not with General. It has been a staple in my always changing line up for 5 years now.
Quite possibly one of my new favorite all around snuses, very good and long lasting flavor!
General products are, well, phenomenal! General was the first Snus I tried several months ago as it is available in a retail stores in the U.S. General Mint rapidly became a favorite, but I have moved more to the straight tobacco flavor Snus products. General Original is a best seller for a good reason. It is very solid with a peppery taste. Lasts a good amount of time with slightly more drip than I get from Grov or Ettan. This product is definitely in my rotation now, although I do prefer Grov or Ettan by a slight margin. Personal preference, though. If you buy this Snus, you absolutely cannot go wrong!
What can one say about the general that has not already been said. It was my first introduction to real Swedish snus. It knocked me on my rear initially but was good nevertheless. The peppery notes are unique in this snus and give it a distinctive taste. The more subtle lemon flavor mixes well and is more prevalent than other citrus snus. Its not my favorite but its definitely one I have in the freezer at all times. The white portion is a great beginner snus.
This is the first Swedish Snus I tried. It has a pretty good flavor that is peppery and citrusy, comparable to General Onyx but Onyx is crisper and in my opinion much better. The taste of this one also reminded me of Copenhagen snuff.
It's pretty decent but Onyx is basically a better tasting, better feeling snus.
What needs to be said about general a citrus peppery tobacco flavor. A classic and always in my order. Not my favorite but a staple.
