General Mackmyra Original

One of my favorites

I love the flavor of whiskey, but it's also one that's hard to pinpoint and can be highly subjective. The flavors here taste rich and malty with a bit of raison and caramel. It's a great representation of the flavors present in a great whisky. In contrast, Islay whisky the one to pick if you're looking for the full experience, like taking a sip of whisky and want the mouthfeel of whisky as well. Overall a really enjoyable snus.

Better than white

So I got this with my first order of online snus after trying out general white and general mint from local tobacco stores. I really didn’t like white at first but then it grew on me. But this didn’t even have to grow on me. The flavor is less bergamot and more raisin-y? It really piqued my taste buds and I will definitely order more.

Did they change it?

New look to the can, but it seems to taste different too, not getting the whisky notes.

Go to snus

This is my go to snus. The whiskey flavor is strong enough without any hint of artificiality. If you get a fresh batch there is a subtle hint of apple. No herbaceous or spice notes here.
Certainly the best of the whiskey snus, as I find Islay and Crafted to have pretty strong notes of manure. I am undecided whether Ministry of Snus x Snubie Bourbon Vanilla is better or that it I just miss it from being a limited run. But they are different snus for different occasions.
This is the can I keep in my pocket throughout the day.

My go-to

I haven't been using snus for long. I tried the usual suspects to start out with. But this along with Grov original have become my favorites for daily use. I do however find myself using this more then Grov.

Not an everyday snus.

I got this with high expectations, I was a little dissapointed at first. I was not really sure what to expect but at the end of the can I figured something out. This is a dessert snus. You have to treat it like a glass of whiskey. Dont lip one in the morning, save it fir after dinner.

pungent

Reminiscent of balkan blend pipe tobacco, with that strong leathery musk mixing with the acrid aftertaste of scotch. Gives me a little heartburn, and sometimes so strong that I have to pull it out for a few minutes. Much like a good scotch, only something that I'll dip into every few weeks, but it is good.

New snus user

Just started and the only stuff ive tried so far has been general, general dry, jakobsson's mint and some sort of thunder frosted. This is on par with general original, but a little more smokey and a hint of whisky. Not sure if i like it better than general original, but its not a poor purchase. Im glad i got it and will definitely use it.

In Constant Rotation

This is one of my 2 all-day snuses - the other being Ettan Original Portion. Great deep, smokey tobacco flavor balanced with the slight sweetness of whisky.

I'm the minority

I was really excited to try this one with all the glowing reviews. It just doesn't work for me. The salt mixed with the Whiskey gives me hellacious heartburn. It's the only Snus I've tried that does so. YMMV

The only General Snus I like

I usually avoid General Brand. I have never had one I liked. This one is a keeper though. Rich portions that are actually filled. Has a strong and complex flavor profile. Rich and dark with smoke, whiskey and tobacco all blended perfectly IMO. Will be buying a roll next time.

Great Snus!

Not sure if I can say the name of the american company. So I'll use a different way of saying it.

This snus tastes eXACTLY like lee .... VIE...... get to the end of the review to get the last part.

This is an excellent snus. I almost thought I needed to spit it out due to the taste.

I would totally buy this again.

Excellent

General Extra Sterk has been the only snus ive used here in the states. Received my order of this in portion and Mellgrens white portion today and both are great. This has an upfront whiskey flavor ( without the stench of Crafted) and is long lasting. Portions are good size and release is almost instant. Really really like this snus.
