I remember trying this as a beginner. I came from Camel snus, so any of the Swedish brands were like gold. I never liked this one, however. I believe it was due to the herbal taste; it overwhelmed me.
While I didn't enjoy it, by no means is it a bad snus; the flavor just wasn't for me. It definitely was different from everything else I've tried, though.

There is a reason why they only make this brand in white portions and not original. The flavor is perfect for white portions. Has a perfect blend of herbal flavors that remind you of tea and white wine. A lot of people can't get used to it because it lacks that robust tobacco flavor. Keep in mind that GR is not meant to be like Grov or General. It's meant to be gentle and somewhat "tarty". It's one of my personal favorites. The best white portion from Swedish match alongside General white. It's meant to go along with tea, not coffee (in order to paint a better picture of the flavor profile). A great everyday snus in my opinion.

This is one that I didn't like at first, but like all good things, it simply took a bit of getting used to. It is in my top five of favorite snus, and I would definitely order more in the future. There are a lot of comments on juniper and other flavors, but I don't really taste anything except the tobacco and the salt, and those are both in good proportion in these.

It took me quite a while to warm up to this snus. As a former smoker & chewing tobacco user, I didn't have much of a palette for floral-flavored snus. However, now that I've stopped smoking, the nuances of this snus are more apparent. It is strictly a "drinking snus" for me; not alcohol, but flavored beverages. For example, it goes wonderfully well with variants of earl grey tea -- the bergamot in the tea complements the juniper berry in this snus, and makes for an extra tasty tea break.
I only pick up a tin of this snus from time to time for those drinking pleasures, but do not prefer it as a daily snus. I'll give it four out of five stars for this sake.

Goteborgs Rape along with General and Grov, are the only snuses I ever order these days.
It tastes and smells strongly of juniper (think gin) so if you don't like having a pine forest in your mouth, this may not be your snus. If, however, you enjoy things like gin, you will probably love this snus!

I received a tin of this in my "bag o' snus", and I'm glad I did. being new to swedish snus, the first time I tried one of these, I couldn't help but think "this is tobacco?." it really has a strong, though very good herbal/flowery flavor, but rest assured, it's tobacco. I alternate between this and jakobosson's regular portion, which is also good (though stronger).
I was hesitant at first, but after using this for a few days and running out, I've found myself ordering more. sorry to say all I've got now is the smell of the tin, and I'm awaiting my next order.
