Röda Lacket Snus is the second oldest brand of Swedish snus still produced with a history as a radical socialist activist.

Röda Lacket Snus was first launched in 1850 by snus boy genius Petter Swartz in Norrköping, Sweden. It quickly became the most popular of the Swartz snuses and spread in popularity across Sweden as a loose snus.

Röda Lacket, Swedish for Red Seal, gained wide popularity during the European youth revolts of the late 1960s, perhaps due to the brand's red colored can. The rise of socialism and escalation of the cold war; thy name is Röda Lacket.

Today Röda Lacket has retired from politics and is content to be a medium full-bodied tobacco character snus with a hint of licorice, a distinct sweetness and the flavors of dried fruit. It's even available as a white portion snus now; nothing subversive about that.

The can is still red but the left wing chants of yesteryear have faded away. Wait; we're talking about Sweden. Maybe Röda Lacket Snus is still pulling political strings in the back rooms of Stockholm.
